Seared Cumin Tuna Steak

Fresh lime juice, cayenne pepper, and cilantro bring this dish south of the border and are sure to create a fiesta in your mouth!
Ingredients
- 4 (6 oz) tuna steaks (3/4 in thick)
- 2 T cumin seeds or ground cumin
- ¼ t garlic powder
- ¼ t sea salt
- ⅛ t ground cayenne pepper
- 2 T unrefined coconut oil
- 2 T freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 T coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine cumin, garlic powder, sea salt, and cayenne pepper; stir to blend.
- Sprinkle cumin mixture evenly over fish, coating it completely.
- Heat coconut oil in a large skillet with a lid to lessen splattering.
- Sear fish for approximately 3 minutes.
- Turn fish over and sprinkle with lime juice, continue to cook until lightly browned on the outside and opaque in the center, approximately 3 minutes.
- Transfer to plates and garnish with cilantro.
