Wasabi Ahi Tuna with Ginger Reduction

This Asian inspired tuna steak dish uses the wonderful combination of wasabi and ginger to create the perfect amount of spice and flavor!
Ingredients
  • 4 Ahi Tuna Fillets
  • 1 T extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 T ground black peppercorn
  • 1 t salt
  • ¼ c white sesame seed
  • 2 T wasabi paste
  • 1 T paleo mayo
  • 1 t minced ginger
  • 1 T pure maple syrup
  • ¼ c Tamari sauce
Instructions
  1. In a bowl mix salt, pepper and sesame seed.
  2. Take tuna and coat in seed mixture.
  3. Place oil in pan and heat to med-high heat.
  4. Place tuna steaks down and allow to cook 1 minute on each side for a rare tuna steak. Up to 2 minutes for medium well.
Wasabi Sauce
  1. Take wasabi paste and mix with mayo. Blend well.
Ginger Reduction
  1. Take Ginger, syrup and Tamari.
  2. Place in a small sauce pan and place on low-med heat. Heat until a bubble and contine stirring. Remove from heat and let reduction cool. It will thicken.
