While preparing this week’s meal plan, Celia stumbled upon this DELISH dressing. As most of you probably know, it can be very difficult to find a store-bought salad dressing that is not full of additives, sugar, or soy. What many don’t realize is that yummy homemade dressings are just a few ingredients away and easy to prepare! This one is simple, flavorful, and 100% Dr. Brown approved! We used it as the compliment for an amazing grilled chicken dish, but it would be perfect for your favorite summer salad as well.
Look how even this “natural” brand has some undesirable ingredients in it to make it shelf stable.
Or even worse a highly processed product like this one which is filled with Dr. Brown No-no’s…
Water, Soybean Oil, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Vinegars (Red Wine, Distilled), Orange Juice Concentrate, Salt, Corn Syrup, Teriyaki Sauce (Water, Wheat, Soybeans, Vinegar, Salt, Wine, Sugar, Spices, Succinic Acid, Dried Onion, Sodium Benzoate used to protect quality), Sugar, Ginger Puree, Spices, Xanthan Gum, Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate and Calcium Disodium EDTA Used to Protect Quality, Ascorbic Acid.
Ditch the store-bought and stick with this easy homemade version!!
- Juice of 2 mandarin oranges
- 1 T olive oil
- 1 T red wine vinegar
- ½ t sea salt
- ½ t pepper
Step 1: Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and stir.
Voila! Delicious, healthy homemade dressing in a cinch.
Hope you enjoy!
