Marpé Wellness is all about holistic nutrition education, so it is fitting that we have connected with someone formally trained in just that. Today I want to introduce you to my new friend and our newest contributor to the blog, Julie! Julie has been working for Dr. Brown at the front desk of his practice for over a month now. Considering her background, we have asked her to also write new articles pertaining to a holistic lifestyle that we can then share with our readers. We are so excited to have her join the NDAMC/Marpé team! Read below to see why.
Alternative Medicine to the Rescue … Again!
When Julie’s son was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 3, she struggled to find any solutions from Western medicine. Julie was determined to address the cause of the condition versus just the treatment of his symptoms. After months of searching for answers on her own, it was a chiropractor that eventually led her to the root of the diagnosis. Within only a few short months of natural treatment, the asthma disappeared.
Once an Educator, Always an Educator.
This experience sent Julie on a journey to discover alternative medicine and live more of a natural and holistic lifestyle. Since Julie was an educator prior to having children, it is part of her nature to research as much as possible and share what she finds with others. So, it is no surprise that after several years of working for different chiropractors, she went on to receive a degree in Holistic Health Coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2013 and has been doing nutritional counseling ever since.
Julie also has a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Connecticut State University in Elementary Education with a concentration in Math, Science and Geography and a Master’s Degree in Science from Southern Connecticut State University. This background in education and science has been a great foundation for her pursuits in the health and wellness industry over the past 14 years.
A New Beginning with Some New Offerings!
Holistic Nutrition Education is now her passion. She is currently available for one-on-one coaching sessions to help Dr. Brown’s current patients implement his diet into their daily lives. These sessions will include grocery shopping tips, recipe substitutions and adaptations, and many more healthy lifestyle changes. Also be on the lookout for us offering virtual coaching sessions with her through our website in the near future. In the meantime, please enjoy reading some new material with a new perspective right here on the blog in the coming weeks.
Til next time!
