After a weekend in Northern California, the Dallas 90 degree temps feel pretty brutal! And anyone from Texas knows that we haven’t seen anything yet … I’m already dreading the sweltering heat of July and August. I remember when I was young how I loved to cool off after a long day at the pool with a nice, cold snow cone. Now, as a mom, nothing makes me cringe more than my kids asking for this awful treat. (Here, honey, why don’t we drink a big ole’ glass of high fructose corn syrup and artificial dye?!) Instead of giving in to these requests, here are a few fruit-based treats you can make at home that are sure to please both mom and kids alike!
Fruit-Based Treats Perfect for Summer!
This Strawberry Fruit Chiller is super refreshing and completely delicious!! It tastes and feels like an Icee but without all the junk.
Watermelon Poolside Pie is just as tasty as it is unique and beautiful. You could probably even arrange those berries like a flag and have a Dr. Brown approved dessert perfect for Fourth of July!
It’s amazing how sweet and yummy blended up fruit can be. I know my kids always beg for more of this scrumptious Peach Paradise Smoothie!
Nothing says summer like a big glass of lemonade. Unfortunately though, most lemonades are full of processed sugar and other unwanted ingredients. Our fresh squeezed Watermelon Lemonade, however, uses raw honey (plus the watermelon) to add a naturally sweet and delicious flavor!
Our Strawberry Banana Cream Trifle will take a little more work, but the end result is totally worth it!! The strawberries keep this delicious dessert light while the coconut milk and bananas add a creaminess that is to die for!
